Who makes Purple

Purple belongs to Purple Innovation, Inc., of Lehi, Utah. The business grew out of the cushioning work of brothers Tony and Terry Pearce, and the Purple brand itself dates from January 2016, according to a 2017 Deseret News profile that also describes its first plant in Alpine and a 574,000-square-foot facility in Grantsville, Utah.

The GelFlex Grid in every bed

What sets Purple apart is the GelFlex Grid, a hyper-elastic polymer molded into open square columns. Under a shoulder or hip the columns buckle and let you sink in; under the waist they stay upright and hold you level. The open cells also let air move, and Purple says this pulls heat away instead of trapping it the way solid foam does. The grid is 2 inches deep on the entry models and the Restore Hybrid, 3 inches on the RestorePlus and stacked 2 + 2 inches on the RejuvenatePremier. The product pages also list CertiPUR-US certified foam and a fiberglass-free fire sock.

Three collections

The jump between collections is steep. At list price a Queen Purple Rejuvenate costs $5,499, more than three times the $1,599 of a Queen of The Purple Mattress, so for most budgets the realistic choice is between the Essential beds and the Restore Hybrid.

Trial, warranty and where to buy

Every mattress comes with a 100-night trial that starts on delivery. Purple asks you to sleep on it for at least 21 nights before starting a return, then picks the bed up and refunds you. The warranty runs 10 years and shipping is free. Besides purple.com and its own showrooms, Purple sells through Mattress Firm under a 2025 agreement with Mattress Firm’s owner Somnigroup. Purple’s store finder lists more than 3,400 retail locations where you can try the grid in person.
