The Snow takes the Dream’s zoned hybrid design and builds cooling into the cover and the top two layers. The top memory foam carries a phase change coating that absorbs heat, the zoned second layer has thin graphite bands that spread it, and the QuickCool cover uses yarns that feel cold to the touch. Pocketed springs sit underneath, for a height of 12 inches (30 cm).

Casper claims the system fights overheating for 12 hours or more, not just while you fall asleep. Phase change materials absorb heat until they are saturated, so the cover and the airflow through the springs do much of the work later in the night.

The feel is medium, which we score 5 out of 10, but with a slower memory foam hug than the Dream. Zoned support keeps the hips from sinking.

A Queen is $2,620, noticeably more than the Dream, and there is no Twin.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“For hot sleepers the Snow is the Casper to buy, because cover, foam and springs all help shed heat. If you rarely overheat, the Dream gives the same zoned support for less.”
