The Nectar Ultra Memory Foam is the top of Nectar’s all-foam line and, at 15 inches (38 cm), the tallest foam model the brand sells. Under a cooling cover with an antimicrobial treatment sit 4 inches of memory foam topped with a sheet of phase change material, 3 inches of support foam split into three zones and an 8-inch base foam.

Nectar calls the feel medium-soft, and we place it at 4 on a 10-point firmness scale. The thick memory foam lets the shoulder and hip sink in, which is what side sleepers with pressure points need, while the firmer zone under the hips keeps the lower back from sagging as far as it would on a uniformly soft bed. Stomach sleepers will find it too soft.

The phase change layer takes the edge off the warmth of memory foam at first contact, but an all-foam bed this thick still holds more heat than a hybrid. If you sleep hot, the Nectar Ultra Hybrid puts the same comfort layers on a coil core.

A Queen costs $1,999, the second-highest price in the Nectar range. You get the same 365-night trial and Forever Warranty as the cheaper models, and Nectar states that the foams are CertiPUR-US certified and the mattress is fiberglass-free.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“Buy the Ultra Memory Foam if you sleep on your side, want the deepest cradle Nectar makes and prefer the quiet, still feel of foam. If you run warm or move around a lot at night, the Nectar Ultra Hybrid is the better flagship.”
