The King Koil Luxury Air Mattress has nothing to do with the brand’s store mattresses. It is a licensed inflatable bed for guests, moving days and camping, sold through the King Koil store on Amazon and through Walmart.

Our test covers the Queen in its tallest version: 60 by 80 inches and 20 inches high, which puts the sleeping surface close to the height of a regular bed and makes getting up easier. Inside, a coil-beam structure of air chambers keeps the surface level, and a flocked top keeps sheets from sliding. The built-in pump, which the listing describes as patented, runs on a household outlet and fills the bed in about two minutes, and you set the firmness yourself by adding or letting out air.

The listing gives a capacity of 650 pounds for the Queen. Like every air mattress, it loses some air over the first nights as the PVC stretches, so plan to top it up. The air inside also takes on the temperature of the room, so in a cold guest room a blanket under the fitted sheet makes a real difference.

Other sizes and lower 13 and 16 inch versions are sold on the same listing. The warranty is 1 year.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“For a spare room or a holiday crowd, this air bed is easy to live with: tall enough to sit on like a real bed and as firm as you like once topped up. Keep it for guests and buy a real mattress for nightly sleep.”
