Who makes Tempur-Pedic

Tempur-Pedic was founded in 1991, according to its parent company Somnigroup International, and every one of its mattresses is built around TEMPUR material, a dense memory foam that slowly shapes itself to your weight and body heat. Somnigroup also owns Sealy, Stearns & Foster and the Mattress Firm store chain, which names Tempur-Pedic among the brands it sells on its retail brands page. Tempur-Pedic also runs its own stores.

The current lineup

The range on tempurpedic.com has three families. The TEMPUR-Cloud is the entry model: 10 inches tall, shipped in a box and offered as all-foam or as a hybrid with coils. The Adapt collection adds height and material as you move up, from the 11-inch TEMPUR-Adapt to the 12-inch ProAdapt and the 13-inch LuxeAdapt, which adds a five-zone support layer.

The Breeze collection is aimed at people who sleep hot. Tempur-Pedic says the ProBreeze feels up to 5 degrees cooler and the LuxeBreeze up to 10 degrees cooler than a ProAdapt. Those are “feels like” figures based on the heat index over an 8-hour night. Most models come in several feels (soft, medium, firm or a medium hybrid), and on most of them the feel does not change the price.

Where it sits on price

Tempur-Pedic is one of the most expensive mainstream brands in the US. Even the TEMPUR-Cloud costs more than most boxed hybrids, and the Breeze models are priced like luxury beds. The promotions on tempurpedic.com tend to add free accessories instead of cutting the mattress price; at the end of October 2026 that meant $300 in accessories with a Breeze mattress. Expect to pay close to the listed price.

Trial, warranty and delivery

Mattresses bought from Tempur-Pedic get a 90-night trial. You are asked to sleep on the mattress for at least 30 nights, and if you return it the refund is reduced by the return shipping fee. Closeout models cannot be returned. The limited warranty runs 10 years. The TEMPUR-Cloud ships free by UPS in a box, while the Adapt and Breeze models come with free delivery and can be set up in your home.

Which Tempur-Pedic to buy

Choose the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud if you want the TEMPUR feel at the lowest price and do not mind a boxed bed: $1,999 for a Queen. The Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Adapt, at $2,299 for a Queen, is the better buy if you want a taller 11-inch bed with free delivery and setup in your home. Pick the Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-ProBreeze or TEMPUR-LuxeBreeze only if you sleep hot and accept luxury pricing, from $4,499 for a Queen. Skip Tempur-Pedic altogether if you like a bouncy, responsive bed or want to spend under $1,500: slow-moving memory foam and a high price are what the brand is.
