The TEMPUR-Adapt is the base model of the Adapt collection. It is 11 inches (28 cm) tall and comes in one feel, Medium, either as an all-foam mattress or as a Medium Hybrid with more than 1,000 coils under the TEMPUR layers.

The foam version uses a TEMPUR comfort layer over a TEMPUR support layer, so it has the slow, close hug Tempur-Pedic is known for. The hybrid feels a little lighter and bouncier and makes it easier to change position.

A Queen in Medium costs $2,299; the hybrid costs about $300 more. The Tempur-Pedic TEMPUR-Cloud, the brand’s boxed 10-inch model, costs $1,999 in a Queen with the same medium TEMPUR feel. Pay the extra for the Adapt if you want the taller 11-inch build and would rather not unbox and unroll a mattress yourself. Tempur-Pedic delivers the Adapt free.

Tempur-Pedic includes a 90-night trial, with returns refunded minus the return shipping fee, and a 10-year limited warranty.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The Adapt is the model to start with if you want the real Tempur-Pedic experience without paying for the Pro or Luxe layers. It suits back and side sleepers who like a medium surface. Hot sleepers will be happier in the TEMPUR-Breeze line, built for cooling, though a Queen TEMPUR-ProBreeze costs $4,499.”
