The Classic Hybrid takes the Classic recipe and swaps most of the foam core for coils. From the top down you get a cooling knit cover, 1 inch of memory foam, 2 inches of support foam, 8 inches of individually wrapped coils and a 1-inch foam base. The mattress is 12 inches (30 cm) tall.

Nectar calls the feel medium-firm and we rate it 7 out of 10. Compared with the all-foam Classic it has more bounce and a slightly softer first touch, while the coils keep your hips from sinking. Back sleepers and combination sleepers who change position during the night will find it easier to move on.

The coil core also matters for temperature. Air moves through the spring unit far more freely than through 8 inches of base foam, so this is the Classic to choose if you tend to wake up warm. Motion isolation is decent thanks to the wrapped coils, though not as dead as on an all-foam bed.

A Queen lists at $849, a modest step up from the foam version. For that you get better airflow and edge support with the same 365-night trial and Forever Warranty.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The Classic Hybrid is our pick of the cheaper Nectars for couples and warm sleepers. It keeps the Classic's support but breathes better and feels livelier, for a modest premium.”
