The Leesa Original is the brand’s first mattress and still its best seller. It stacks three foams in a 10-inch (25 cm) profile: 2 inches of GreenFlex, Leesa’s plant-based open-cell foam, then 2 inches of 3-lb memory foam and a 6-inch high-density support core. A striped knit cover comes standard, and a Cooling Quilt Top costs extra.

Leesa calls the feel medium, and in its owner survey 76% agreed. We put it at 5 on our 1 to 10 scale. The top foam is responsive, so you sink into the memory foam slowly and can still turn over without effort, which is the main difference from older, slower memory foam beds.

Couples gain the most here. NapLab, an independent US testing lab, gave the Original 10 out of 10 for motion isolation and 9 for cooling, figures Leesa publishes on its product page. Side sleepers under about 230 lbs and back sleepers fit it best; heavier stomach sleepers may find the hips sink too far.

The weak point is edge support, as on most all-foam beds: sitting on the side to put on shoes compresses it noticeably. A Queen lists at $999 before Leesa’s frequent sales, with a 365-night trial and a limited lifetime warranty.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“The Original is the Leesa we would buy first: it isolates motion as well as anything at its price, sleeps cooler than classic memory foam and suits most positions. Pick a hybrid instead if you weigh over 230 lbs or often sit on the edge.”
