The Saatva Rx is the Saatva mattress for people with chronic back and joint conditions. It is 15 in (38 cm) tall and has what Saatva calls a supportive plush feel, 3 to 4 on its scale, so it is softer than the Classic but not a sink-in bed.
The idea is to cushion pressure points while keeping the spine in line. A gel-infused lumbar crown sits under the center, a layer of micro-coils reacts to small movements, and Rx Wave-Tech foam with graphite and phase change material adds contouring and helps carry heat away. Underneath sits an 8-inch comfort coil unit of triple-tempered recycled steel.
Side sleepers with sore shoulders or hips are the clearest fit, and back sleepers who find firm mattresses painful should also look at it. Stomach sleepers need firmer support. The health claims come from Saatva; talk to your doctor if your pain is serious.
A Queen costs $3,639, the same as the Saatva HD, with white glove delivery, a 365-night trial and the lifetime warranty.
