The Dream Max is the Dream rebuilt for people who wake up sore. It adds a third foam layer that is contoured to the body’s shape and spreads the zoning across seven areas instead of three. With the pocketed spring base it stands 14 inches (36 cm) tall.

Casper describes the feel as medium soft, and we score it 4 out of 10. The top layers give generously under the shoulders, while the firmer zones under the waist and lower back hold the spine level. The foams are the responsive kind, so the bed still feels lively.

Temperature is ordinary for a thick foam-and-spring bed; the springs help, and a QuickCool cover is optional.

At $3,220 for a Queen, the Dream Max costs much more than the Dream, but it is still cheaper than the Snow Max.

Our verdict

Conclusion
“We recommend the Dream Max to back and side sleepers with aches who like a plush top but need real support underneath. Stomach sleepers should stay with the firmer The One or the Dream.”
