Purple's flagship stacks 5 inches of GelFlex Grid under a DreamLayer top on 8-inch coils, the tallest bed it sells.
The RejuvenateUltimate is the top of Purple’s range. Below the DreamLayer pillow top sit two layers of GelFlex Grid, 3 inches and 2 inches deep, then a soft Active Response+ foam and 8-inch coils, for 17.5 inches (44 cm) in all. No other Purple bed is as tall.
Five inches of stacked grid give the most gradual sink in the lineup. The upper layer folds under light pressure, the lower one only where a hip or shoulder pushes harder, so the body is cradled in stages rather than all at once. Purple calls the feel soft and aims it at back, side and combination sleepers, heavier ones included; we place it at 2 on our 1 to 10 scale. Stomach sleepers will sink too far at the hips.
Delivery includes setup in your room and removal of the packaging, which you will want: a Queen weighs about 246 lb.
A Queen lists at $8,799 on purple.com, more than the RejuvenatePremier, and the extra inch of grid is the main thing that premium buys.
