Newton Baby coupons & offers

Newton Baby is the crib mattress brand behind the Wovenaire core, a block of food-grade polymer fibers that the company describes as 90% air and 10% polymer. Founder Michael Rothbard, a specialty sleep entrepreneur and father of three, started the company after his own run of sleepless nights as a new parent, according to Newton’s own story page. Newton is also the most searched crib mattress brand in the US by a wide margin.

The crib mattress range

Every Newton crib mattress uses the same Wovenaire core and fits a standard 52 x 28 inch crib. What changes from one model to the next is height and the cover.

A Mini version for mini cribs and a Kids’ Twin mattress complete the line. The core is the selling point, because you can rinse it in the shower and stand it up to dry, something no foam or spring mattress allows. Newton says its mattresses are GREENGUARD Gold certified by UL, meet the federal crib mattress rules and pass the Australian firmness test AS/NZS 8811.1, the same test the CPSC built into its crib mattress standard, 16 CFR 1241.

Trial, warranty and shipping

Newton sells mostly through its own store with a 100-night money-back trial and free shipping in the contiguous 48 states. The Wovenaire core carries a limited lifetime warranty and the covers two years. The Essential models are excluded from sitewide sales, while the Original and Waterproof are often discounted a little.

A note on safe sleep

A breathable core is a comfort and hygiene feature, not a substitute for safe sleep habits. The American Academy of Pediatrics asks parents to use a firm, flat surface with only a fitted sheet and nothing else in the crib, whatever mattress you choose.
