Who makes Coleman

Coleman goes back to William Coffin Coleman, who began selling gasoline pressure lamps in Wichita, Kansas, in the early 1900s, as its Wikipedia entry recounts. The lanterns turned into a full camping range of tents, coolers, stoves, sleeping bags and cots, and the company is now part of Newell Brands. Warranty returns for Coleman and its sister brand AeroBed still go to The Coleman Company in Wichita, according to the AeroBed warranty page.

Air beds under the Coleman name

Most Coleman air mattresses you see in stores are camping and guest airbeds such as the SupportRest and GuestRest double-high models, sold through mass retailers rather than on coleman.com. On its own US store, Coleman currently lists one air bed design: the Airbed Cot, an air mattress zipped into a folding steel cot with side tables, in Twin and Queen.

Both use Coleman’s ComfortStrong coil construction inside the air bed, an AirTight system that Coleman says is factory tested to be leak free, and a Double Lock valve. The included 4D QuickPump runs on batteries, so the bed works at a campsite without an outlet.

Who Coleman suits

If you camp by car and want to sleep off the cold ground, the cot is the point: the frame lifts you more than 20 inches up and the side tables hold a lantern or a bottle. For a guest room at home, a regular raised air mattress with a built-in AC pump costs far less and stores smaller.

Warranty

The Airbed Cot comes with a 1-year limited warranty. There is no sleep trial; returns follow the policy of the store you bought from.
